SaVida Health Participates in the Delaware Attack Addiction 5k March

-by Jennifer Haynes

The wonderful staff and their family from our SaVida Health Dover and Newark treatment centers recently participated the atTAcK addiction E-Racing the Stigma 5K run, which was kicked off from St. Peter the Apostle School in Old New Castle, DE.  This heartwarming event was held on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

The atTAcK addiction E-Racing the Stigma 5K/Rally is comprised primarily of participants who have been personally impacted by the disease of addiction by either overcoming an addiction, having lost a loved one to addiction, and/or currently living with an addicted loved one.

Since 2013, attack addiction has made huge strides in Delaware’s efforts to raise awareness about the disease of addiction, change public policy and assist people in recovery and and their families. It is organized of all volunteers and the 5K/Rally provides 80% of the funding. The funds raised from this event will be used to: promote awareness about the dangers of illegal drug use, support people in recovery and their families, provide scholarships for those in active recovery looking to get their lives on the right track or those seeking careers in mental health and substance abuse, support those who’ve lost a loved one to the disease of addiction , and fund recovery residence and communities.

Kudos to our Delaware staff and their beautiful families (and friends) for giving back to the communities we serve.
