Recovery Day 2026 in Vermont: Honoring Dr. Nels Kloster’s Lifetime Commitment to Care
On February 11, 2026, communities across Vermont came together to recognize Recovery Day, a statewide event celebrating recovery, resilience, and the people who have dedicated their lives to expanding access to compassionate, effective treatment.
This year, we are proud to share that Dr. Nels Kloster, an addiction psychiatrist practicing at SaVida Health Vermont, has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades of leadership and service in the field of addiction medicine.
Dr. Kloster was being recognized for his long-standing work advancing coordinated, person-centered systems of care—approaches that prioritize dignity, clinical excellence, and long-term recovery outcomes. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in expanding access to evidence-based treatment and helping shape integrated care models that meet people where they are.
Recovery Day serves as an important reminder that recovery is possible—and that it is strengthened by clinicians, advocates, and communities working together to reduce stigma and remove barriers to care. We are honored to celebrate Dr. Kloster’s contributions and grateful for his continued commitment to patients, families, and Vermont communities.
SaVida Health is proud to stand alongside our patients and partners on Recovery Day 2026 as we reaffirm our mission to provide accessible, compassionate care and support lifelong recovery.
“Dr. Kloster’s career reflects the very best of addiction medicine—compassionate, patient-centered, and grounded in collaboration. His leadership has helped shape care systems that truly meet people where they are. We are honored to celebrate his contributions on Recovery Day.” —Tracy Thomasson-Director of Operations, SaVida Health Vermont
